Work or volunteer at a recovery resource
- Find recovery work or volunteer opportunities

Step 2
Prepare for Vermont Recovery Coach Academy online component
- Acquire a reliable internet connection for a 9am to 4pm online class, either through home connection or a publicly available one;
- an environment suitable for study and to actively participate in discussions (low noise, distraction light);
- if in a public space, earphones to keep conversations private.

Complete the Vermont Recovery Coach Academy
- Complete courses

Earn 500 Hours of experience and 25 hours of being mentored
- Obtain 500 or more verified work hours and 25 mentored hours

Pass the IC&RC Certification Exam

- Sign up for and pass exam
