    Prerequisites

    • High school, High School Equivalent or Equivalent, or higher matriculated
    • 18 years of age or older
  • Step 1

    Complete required coursework

    • 46-hours of NYCB approved Foundational Role Training
      • 30 hour CCAR Recovery Coach Academy (RCA) or NYCB approved equivalent
      • 16 hour Ethical Considerations for Recovery Coaches & Peer Advocates NYCB approved equivalent
        OR
      • All-inclusive 46-hour training
    • 4-hours of NYCB approved Medication Supported Recovery

  • Step 2

    Complete the following for a full Certified Peer Advocate Certification

    • Earn 500 hours of paid and/or volunteer role experience
    • Earn 25 hours being mentored/supervised
  • Step 3

    Complete your application for Certified Recovery Peer Advocate Certification

  • Step 4

    Pass the IC&RC Peer Recovery Certification Exam

    • Sign up for and pass exam
